Defense of the Republic, or why action matters

There are some things many can agree on. Regardless of our political leanings.

We need to resist now with organized non-violent protest.

We have cherished and protected our US Constitution for a long time. It was a miracle from the enlightenment and unlike anything, ever. Not perfect and neither is America. But it is much better than the alternatives.

When we see due process discarded, When we see Congress abdicating its responsibilities. When we see illegal search and seizure, When we see habeas corpus ignored, the Constitution needs We the People's defense. - Captain Obvious

The regime is using performative violence to subdue We the People. Whether it is the unlawful execution of smugglers in boats, or the targeting, and double-tap tomahawking of a girls school in Iran, or the daily violence we see from DHS, or wars of choice wasting our service members; it is repugnant and intolerable.

Writing this makes me feel physically ill. A reel of backpacks, maimed and dead service members, protestor deaths or dehumanizing detentions flash like some Clockwork Orange ultraviolence.

No one likes kleptocracy and grift.

Pardons for sale
Self dealing funds to incentivize bad behavior
Insider trading
Sponsored reality show cabinet members
Political grift disguised as donations that evaporate
Family members and friends cashing in on wars
Regulatory malfeasance
Selling out of our national parks
Cheering on pollution and fossil fuel
Protecting tech lords from liability and regulation
and on and on an on

Lies and Propaganda

They believe that lying again and again and again will make us numb and unable to discern the truth. Not so.

No one likes being lied to, no one. Most of the time when this regime is moving its lips it is lying. They have a professional network of influencers who reinforce the lies in media, podcasting, and social media. Professional means for money. Guess they just don't care.
