Dear John - You are mulling over the most recent elections. The clear sentiment is American's are freaked out by the economy, jobs, and inflation. Unfortunately, there are not many accomplishments on those topics for the current Congress or the Administration. Looks quite bleak for the average citizen.

NSPM-7 is a directive from POTUS about Countering Domestic Terrorism and Organized Political Violence to "to investigate and disrupt networks, entities, and organizations that foment political violence." The problem is it is overly broad and vague and seems to provide a tool to harass and imprison political dissenters.
