It's the economy, John
Dear John -
You are mulling over the most recent elections.
The clear sentiment is American's are freaked out by the economy, jobs, and inflation. Unfortunately, there are not many accomplishments on those topics for the current Congress or the Administration. Looks quite bleak for the average citizen.
Of course billionaires are partying like its the 1920s having a gay old time with flappers and gilded ball rooms. Given the reckless tax breaks in the big bogus bill, they are happy. Not sure you have done enough to stop the largess.
The irony is billionaires only have one vote each and the grift and greed has been so blatant and arrogant that people are disgusted. Suspect your posturing about working with the administration may be viewed as weak and ineffective.
Hope you, McCormick, and Mackenzie can do something, anything, that can help to decrease cost of government and the deficit. Eliminating the regressive tariff inflation tax could also help.
Best of luck deflecting the arc of the deficit and helping your constituents with unemployment, inflation, and the regressive tariff taxes.
Sincerely,
John
