ICE and CBP - count on being doxed - so dance like we are all watching

The talking heads are blah, blah, blahing about photographing ICE and CBP agents. They are trying make agents comfortable that they can act anonymously. That is just crazy talk.

BLUF: Agents will be doxed. Leadership knows agents will be doxed and don't care. Since it is inevitable, make the best moral choices in everything you do.

Through out history there have been many dictators and authoritarians who have mobilized thugs and brown shirts to do their dirty work. And there have always been people who have cheered them on.

And in literally every case they are remembered with a sense of shame and disgrace by their communities and families because when basic human decency called upon them to make a simple moral choice, they failed.

This time will be no different.

Understand that we need immigration and border agents. Hope most are patriotic Americans who respect the constitution and long standing legal norms. Here are just a few of the ways agents will be doxed.

Open Source Intelligence

Remember when citizens scoured the open source information to identify J6ers? There are already projects coordinating the effort to document ICE agents. Including using AI to unmask agents. Ice List is an example. There will be more.

Insider Leaks

We are already seeing DHS insiders leaking information. If ICE and CBP agents continue to act badly, we can expect insiders with access to leak more.

Your enemies and frenemies

Got a hateful ex, or do people have a grudge against you? Wow, certainly easy for them to drop a dime. And maybe they can lie as good as Patricia and make up some creative stories about you being a groyper mole and domestic terrorist.

Hacktivists (hackers who are activists from the key board) and motivated state actors

Iran and Russia and China world-class hackers are motivated to sow chaos in the U.S. There have been many incidents where Nation States have crawled around US government systems and then stolen sensitive data. They have done so almost annually for the past several decades. The multitude of systems that have your personnel information (health, service records, clearance interviews) are targets that may not be effectively secured.

Since y'all have become a despised world-wide brand, hacktivists globally are probably banging on systems and social engineering right now.

Astutely, SecDHS has severely neutered Federal cybersecurity capabilities and funding. If your leadership cared about you being doxxed, that would not be the case. They don't give two sh*ts about you being doxxed. They don't care. They have government security for themselves, their families, and in some cases girlfriends. They also live on military bases. You don't.

Data brokers

Yeah, the same data brokers that various agencies have come to rely on for citizen attributes and behavior profiles is available for purchase. That includes your data, your cell phone telemetry, social network mapping all that stuff.

Just a matter of time before some shell companies buys a bunch of juicy data all about you, your friends and family. Sure there will be terms of service which will protect the data broker from you. The shell company will simply publish and fold.

Protect yourself

1. Demand a body camera to document your lawful behavior.
2. Wear identifying information like law enforcement does normally like numbered badge and name tag.
3. Don't wear a mask. It will help defuse situations and humanize you.
4. Require judicial warrants to enter private property.
5. Don't do stupid shit just because some chair jockey who is being yelled at by know-nothing suits tells you to do stupid shit. (And certainly don't volunteer to do stupid shit.)
6. If you are working with a lunatic cowboy sadist, get reassigned and drop a dime.

Of course if you are doing an extremely dangerous take down of really bad cartel people... everyone will be sympathetic if you hide your name tag and wear a mask. We understand.
