I.C.E. waste, fraud, and abuse of the law
Dear Dave -
Thanks for your response on November 7. We agree that:
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), a component of the Department of Homeland Security, is responsible for enforcing the nation’s immigration laws.
Am happy that:
My office remains committed to ensuring that established standards and appropriate due process are upheld through careful oversight and ongoing engagement with DHS.
Unfortunately, as this arrived on Friday, we were getting news that:
- Bovino, border patrol commander, admitted to lying to the Court about violating a restraining order while provocatively gassing protestors. Which predictably caused backlash.
- Today we are getting reports of shots fired at border patrol agents in Chicago. Which is unacceptable, but again predictable given the intentionally catalytic enforcement actions. [Is this administration is instigating domestic and international violence as a distraction to: Epstein, economy, and shut down?]
- Continued nonsense about DHS leadership wasting the funds entrusted to them by buying ten planes with no engines.[(What is it about planes and Noem and Lewandowski and Kash - do they think they should be treated like Saudi royalty?]
Realize that it is hard to have form letters that address every constituent letter. But this response was way off tangent from the concerns I raised about wasteful advertising and scary surveillance purchases by an agency (DHS/ICE) that appears unfettered by the law and Congress.
Sincerely,
John
