DHS excessive expenditures on advertising and surveillance technology should be immediately curtailed by Congress
Dear Representative:
Stop Department of Homeland Security's (DHS's) excessive expenditures for advertising and surveillance technology.
Have seen:
- The DHS can force scan people's faces without cause or permission. (This is wrong.)
- DHS is issuing no-bid contracts to Palantir for tens of millions of dollars.
- ICE is spending big money on recruiting advertisements and hiring substandard candidates.
This is done with budget dollars you approved and appropriated.

Do not trust DHS leadership to protect the rights of citizens. Do not trust DHS to be good stewards of our tax dollars. There are a string of civil right infringements that DHS denies until clear evidence surfaces, repeatedly.

In your oversight and investigative functions, intervene and defend the Constitution, per your oath. In your budget function, de-fund the wasteful expenditures that we can clearly not afford when we just racked up an additional $1 trillion in debt.
Thanks in advance for addressing these important issues.
Sincerely,
John
